Our Story
Sisters Isabella Onken and Natalie Persico grew up immersed in fashion and retail, thanks to their beloved mom, Tina. As Tina built her own brand while raising three daughters, she brought them along — visiting factories in India, sourcing fabrics at Liberty in London, acting as fit models, giving product feedback, and working in marketing and stores. Fashion, branding, and storytelling became ingrained in their DNA. They have a passion for beautiful and intentional brands, an eye for the best products on the market, and are deeply-informed consumers.
As they built their own lives, careers, and families, Natalie and Isabella became increasingly aware of how everyday products were affecting their health and hormones. Learning more about fabrication and ingredients — and feeling the benefits of non-toxic alternatives — they gradually made the switch to clean makeup, period care, home products, and even laundry detergent. Meanwhile, they noticed their friends and broader communities coming to the same realization: many favorite products were quietly compromising their well-being and impacting their hormone health.
The women Isabella and Natalie interacted with in person and online wanted non-toxic alternatives that seamlessly fit into their lifestyles, but one key category was glaringly missing: underwear. These women wanted to feel protected and pretty, but couldn’t find organic options that didn’t compromise on style. And because underwear is something we wear every day, that comes into contact with our most sensitive areas, it felt like an essential category to reexamine and elevate.
So they created Iris — a brand born from personal need and a desire to serve women like themselves. Iris not only protects women from hormone-disrupting fabrics, but also empowers them to feel beautiful and confident every day. With Iris, we can finally feel protected and pretty at the same time.
